The population of European Bulleheads in the Suså received Thursday 600 new friends, who had been caught the same morning in Skåne, Sweden. Næstved Municipality along with Fyns Laksefiskeri went to Fylle river north of Ystad to catch the Bullheads together with their Swedish colleagues. In Fylle river the European Bullheads thrive, and they are closely related to the original Danish population that died out for 60 years ago. We hope that this addition to the previously released Swedish Bullheads in Suså river, will establish a viable population that can act as surrogate mothers for the Thick Shelled River Mussels larvae.
